قیدهای تکرار
در زبان انگلیسی برای بیان اینکه چند وقت به چند وقت یک فعل اتفاق می‌افتد، می‌توانیم از قیدهای زیر استفاده کنیم.
always
usually
often
sometimes
hardly (ever)
never
همیشه
معمولا
اغلب
گاهی
به‌ندرت
هرگز
جای این قید‌ها در جمله یا قبل از فعل اصلی، یا بعد از was ،are ،is،am یا were است.
She sometimes has honey for breakfast.
او گاهی وقت‌ها صبحانه عسل می‌خورد.
It doesn't often rain in my town.
در شهر من اغلب باران نمی‌بارد.
I must always finish my homework before wathing TV.
من همیشه باید قبل از اینکه تلویزیون تماشا کنم، تکالیفم را تمام کرده باشم.
They are usually at home on the weekend.
آنها معمولا آخر هفته‌ها خانه هستند.
وقتی از قیدهای hardly ever و never استفاده می‌کنیم، فعل جمله باید مثبت باشد.
We hardly ever go to the movies.
ما به‌ندرت می‌رویم سینما.
He's never on time.
او هیچ‌وقت به‌موقع نمی‌رسد.
وقتی می‌خواهیم بپرسیم چند وقت به چند وقت یک فعل اتفاق می‌افتد، از عبارت سوالی how often استفاده می‌کنیم.
How often does he take a nap in the afternoon?
چند وقت به چند وقت بعدازظهر‌ها چُرت می‌زند؟
He always takes a nap in the afternoon.
همیشه بعد از ظهر‌ها چرت می‌زند.
