ترتیب کلمات در جمله
در زبان انگلیسی ترتیب کلمات بسیار مهم است. اگر ترتیب کلمات را تغییر دهیم، ممکن است معنی جمله عوض شود یا جمله نادرست به نظر برسد.
بیشتر جمله های انگلیسی از این ترتیب پیروی می کنند:
Subject1 + Verb2 + Object3 + Place4 + Time5
John1 met2 Nicole3 in the park4 yesterday5.
جان نیکول را دیروز در پارک ملاقات کرد.
همه جملات لزوما هر پنج بخش را ندارند، اما یک جمله معمولا حداقل به یک فاعل و یک فعل نیاز دارد.
She1 is sleeping2.
او خواب است.
He1 loves2 his family3.
او عاشق خانواده اش است.

دیشب او را دیدم.
