Frequency Expressions
We use the following and other similar expressions of frequency to show how often we do something or how regularly a verb happens.
every day / week ...
every other day / week ...
once a day / week ...
twice a day / week ...
three times a day / week ...
every three days / weeks ...
The place of these adverbials is usually at the end of a sentence.
She goes to the gym every other day.
We usually go to the movies three or four times a year.
You should take this medicine every six hours.
To make questions about how frequently a verb happens, we use the question phrase "how often"?
A: How often do you eat out?
B: I usually eat out two or three times a month.
