Parts of Speech
Parts of speech are the different types of words in English, such as nouns, adjectives, and prepositions. Each type has a special function in a sentence.
Here are the most common parts of speech in English:
Nouns
Nouns are words that usually represent people, places, things, or ideas.
book, teacher, happiness, school, cat
Pronouns
Pronouns replace nouns so we don’t repeat the same word.

Verbs
Verbs are words that show an action or a state of being.

Adjectives
Adjectives describe or give more information about nouns or pronouns.

Adverbs
Adverbs describe verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They tell us how, when, where, how much etc.
